Joshua Durham

One of Joshua’s (Josh) earliest memories was helping his Grandma Connie in the store by making gift bows and greeting customers. This enjoyment led him to begin to work part time at Parker Jewelers when he was a freshman at Big Spring High School. This along with his fascination of mechanical things made it a natural fit when he chose to attend the Texas Institute of Jewelry Technology in Paris, Texas. Josh is trained and graduated in 2011 as a Certified Watchmaker and a Jewelers of America Certified Jeweler. Josh is also a Gemological Institute of America Certified Diamond Grader. Josh continues to seek out and attend conferences as well as listen to webinars to further his knowledge in this ever changing field. Some of his responsibilities at Parker Jewelers include Swiss watch repair, selecting stones, and stone setting. While in college Josh was fortunate to meet a fellow Jewelry lover Katrina and brought her home as the perfect wife and addition to the family store staff. When not learning the latest jewelry technology Josh loves the outdoors – hunting, hiking, and camping are all some of his favorite stress relievers!

Tom Parker

Tom Parker graduated from Bowman Technical School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He graduated as a Certified Watchmaker, Jeweler, and Hand Engraver. He also is a Gemological Institute of America Certified Diamond Grader and Graduate Gemologist. Tom started his career in Princeton, New Jersey before moving to Carlisle to work at B. B. Stearns Jewelers. Tom’s passion was always to own a jewelry store of his own. In 1972 his passion became a reality when he opened Parker Jewelers in the basement of his home. There he and his wife Connie grew this business from a small repair shop to a full service jewelry store. Sadly, the matriarch of the family, Connie was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in 2006. Tom continued running the store, eventually adding on the addition of his daughter Mary Anne to the staff. From its humble beginnings the store has grown and grown, but the original founder Tom still continues to enjoy restoring and repairing pocket watches, jewelry repair and engraving today!
